Our Process
Our process is designed to make you feel confident and comfortable.
Working together with our professionals
What do you mean when you say, we are "independent"?

As independent financial advisors, we are not employed by a broker-dealer, insurance company or a financial institution. We have no affiliation with other entities that may stand to gain from our recommendations for you. As fiduciaries, we place our clients’ best interest above all else. Although we are independent, we have established select partnerships with a broker dealer and custodians to best meet each client's needs. Below is a summary of the pillars of our practice.
Investment and planning advice - Investment strategies, portfolio construction and financial plans are consummated by the independent advisors at Ulm Tree Wealth Management.
Broker dealer and compliance - We chose Calton and Associates, Inc. as our broker dealer to support our vision of building our own independent practice. Calton has over 30 years of experience servicing independent financial professionals and provides us with the resources, back-office support and internal control environment of a large firm.
Custodians - All of the assets we manage are held at nationally recognized platforms such as Fidelity investments. As an Ulm Tree client, you will be granted access to the required platform(s) to access accounts, statements, and other information.
How long does it take to onboard me as a new client?

Prior to becoming a client, an advisor on our team would schedule a “exploratory” meeting for you to get know us and ask any questions you have about us or our practice. We would share our Client Relationship Summary (CRS), obtain some basic financial information, and discuss our investment process.
Once we both decide this is a good fit, we would move forward with the account opening process.
Typically, onboarding takes 3-4 weeks based on meetings, required documentation and approvals.
How often do you meet with your clients?

At the start of our relationship, we will decide together what interval of meetings make sense for your portfolio. We typically do semi-annual meetings, but do more frequent (quarterly) or less frequent (annual) meetings based on your preference. Throughout the year, the advisor will monitor and make changes or rebalance your portfolio as necessary (or as client requests).
